Greetings from 1691
This week in Limerick (4–12 May), Friday is doing the heavy lifting. Vladimir Jablokov returns to the Lime Tree Theatre for his Up Close show - back after last year's sold-out run and Tony Cantwell brings his stand-up show You Cry Weird to Dolan's Warehouse the same night. Limerick rapper DATQIDEXCEL also plays his headline debut at the Record Room on Catherine Street. That's a lot of good options on the same night!
Friday is fairly stacked, but it's not the only night worth your time this week. Mack Fleetwood is at Dolan's on Saturday, Amélie gets a big-screen outing at the Belltable on Monday, and if you're up for a 4:15am start, the Darkness Into Light walk is in Limerick on Saturday morning.
This is our pick of what’s on this week. As always for a full event list check out the link at the bottom of the email
Let's dive in 👇
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Vladimir Jablokov - Up Close
Friday 8 May. 20:00. Lime Tree Theatre. Tickets
He went from street performance to headlining the 3Arena - and last year's Limerick run sold out. Jablokov's Up Close format is deliberately intimate: violin and piano (his sister Olga on keys), personal stories woven through the music, everything from Flight of the Bumblebee to Danny Boy.
Tony Cantwell - You Cry Weird
Friday 8 May. 19:30. Dolan's Warehouse Book tickets
You Cry Weird is Tony Cantwell's current show: surreal, personal, the kind of stand-up that goes to unexpected places. Dolan's is always a great spot to spend a Friday night.
DATQIDEXCEL - Live at the Record Room
Friday 8 May. 21:00. Record Room, 46-47 Catherine Street Tickets
Limerick's rising star DATQIDEXCEL plays his first headline at the Record Room on Friday night, fresh from releasing his debut mixtape. High-energy Irish rap in the basement venue under The Commercial on Catherine Street. Small room, first headline. This could be one to say you were at in a few years time!

Mack Fleetwood
Saturday 9 May. 8:00pm. Dolan's
Europe's premier Fleetwood Mac tribute act, covering the full span of the band's catalogue from the Peter Green era through the platinum years. These guys tour Ireland regularly and with good reason!

Amélie - IFI@Belltable
Monday 11 May. 19:30. Belltable Tickets
The IFI's touring programme brings Amélie to the Belltable on Monday. Jean-Pierre Jeunet's 2001 film, still as good as you remember all these years later. A decent way to start the working week.
Darkness Into Light 2026
Saturday 9 May. 04:15am More info.
The annual Pieta walk starts at 4:15am in Limerick on Saturday, one of 48 Munster locations taking part this year. A walk from darkness into daylight, raising awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. It’s always a special and moving event to be a part of.
