EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The olllam + special guests Múlú

Wednesday 7 October · 20:00 · Dolans Warehouse

The name comes from the old Irish for a grand master of a skill. This Transatlantic collective mixes instrumental virtuosity, Irish tradition and Detroit post-rock psych, built around cyclical, trance-like melodies co-written by Belfast uilleann piper John McSherry and drummer Michael Shimmin. Their 2012 debut album won the Indie Acoustic Music Award for Best Instrumental Album, and elllegy in 2022 saw them named RTÉ Radio Best Group at that year's Folk Awards. Scottish whistle and bagpipe player Ross Ainslie joined the live lineup in 2024.

Múlú is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Castlewellan, Co. Down. She sings in Irish in the sean-nós tradition and plays flute, with shruti box drones under her voice.

Monday 12 October · 17:00 and 20:00 · Belltable
