Greetings from 1691
Limerick has one of its strongest weeks of the summer from 26 May to 1 June 2026, with three consecutive outdoor concerts at King John's Castle and a full calendar across Dolans, the Lime Tree Theatre, and beyond.
The Coronas open the Castle on Friday. The Stunning, with Something Happens in support, follow on Saturday. And Sunday brings the Pixies to Limerick for the first time ever, celebrating 40 years of existence with a two-night run.
Dolans has CLUTCH on Friday for their second Limerick night. Limerick Sings International Choral Festival opens Thursday at University Concert Hall.
This is our pick of what's on this week. As always for a full event list check out the link at the bottom of the email.
Let's dive in 👇
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
The Coronas: Live at the Castle
Friday 29 May · 19:00 · King John's Castle
Four No. 1 albums in the Irish charts and a live touring record that includes sold-out runs across the UK, North America, and Australia. The Coronas have been playing King John's Castle, and it does not get old. This is a band built for outdoor summer shows, and they know exactly how to use the medieval walls behind them.

Pixies: P40, Celebrating 40 Years
Sunday 31 May and Monday 1 June · 19:00 · King John's Castle
First time in Limerick, in 40 years of existence. Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering, joined by bassist Emma Richardson, playing a career-spanning set from Surfer Rosa and Doolittle through to The Night the Zombies Came. King John's Castle is one of Ireland's finest outdoor venues, and the Pixies are playing it twice. Forty years in, Limerick debut. Book ahead.
The Stunning and Something Happens: Live at the Castle
Saturday 30 May · 19:00 · King John's Castle
One of the better-matched double bills of the summer. The Stunning have spent thirty-plus years earning the right to play a set like this, and Something Happens alongside them make it something worth travelling for. Together on the King John's Castle stage, with Brewing Up a Storm landing somewhere in the second half: this is the night the weekend peaks.

Rodrigo y Gabriela (Sold Out)
Tuesday 26 May · 20:00 · Dolans Warehouse
The Mexican acoustic guitar duo's Limerick date is gone. Worth checking for returns or getting on the waiting list.
CLUTCH
Friday 29 May · 20:00 · Dolans Warehouse
Second Limerick night for the American stoner rock band, presented by Bad Reputation. Support from Ten Ton Slug. Dolans Warehouse is a very good room for this kind of thing.

Drag Brunch Limerick
Saturday 30 May · 15:00 · Dolans Pub
Bingo, cabaret, and drag performances at Dolans Pub on Saturday afternoon. A different tempo from the Castle shows, but a strong Saturday option if the outdoor line-up is not your pace.
Limerick Sings International Choral Festival
Thursday 28 May onwards · University Concert Hall and various venues
The Limerick Sings festival opens Thursday evening at UCH with a performance by local and regional youth choirs. The full festival runs through to 7 June, with choirs from across Ireland and beyond performing across city venues. The opening Thursday night is the accessible entry point: check the website for ticket details and what's on across the full programme.

Irish Acro Fest 26
Friday 29 May · 19:00 · Irish Aerial Creation Centre
An aerial acrobatics and circus-style festival with live performances, demonstrations, and public workshops. The Friday evening show is the main public performance; workshops run across the weekend.
SYNAPSES
Thursday 28 May · Lime Tree Theatre
Gúna Nua Theatre's SYNAPSES explores the connections between memory and identity. Gúna Nua are one of Ireland's more interesting smaller theatre companies, and the Lime Tree is a good room for this kind of work. Check the Lime Tree website for times and tickets.
Limerick and Clare Wine Lovers Club
Thursday 28 May · 19:00 · No. 1 Pery Square
A guided tasting of six wines with a focus on Burgundy and Beaujolais, hosted by Master Sommelier Nick O'Callaghan. No. 1 Pery Square is a good room for this kind of evening.
